Love is perfect in its imperfections. Many of us as well as myself have been guilty of expectations in love which then lead to disappointment. The idea of unconditional love can often times be thought that it’s understood, but in reality many of us have beliefs we may have inherited overtime preventing us from experiencing this fully.
Why is intuition the key to a healthy lifestyle? The Damn Detox does focus on detoxification, however the reason for detoxification has a bigger component. When we have toxins build up in our body, whether it be physical, emotional or energetic, we cannot be in tune with what our body is trying to tell us it needs.

So many of us want to chalk our experiences up to others, but the reality of it is, our thoughts, words and actions are what translate to our reality. Ever thought of a person right before they called? Or envisioned a promotion that happened in the couple weeks following? That’s you calling things in because your emotions align with it. Just as we have days where we feel ‘everything bad is happening to us’ and then get pulled over with a speeding ticket, we can also rework the algorithm by changing that pattern and connecting to our happiness, experiencing better.
The liver is the second largest organ in the body, with the skin coming in first place. With over 500 biochemical exchanges and responsibilities, you can only imagine how important it is to support our liver for detoxification and optimum health. How can we do this on a daily basis without feeling like it’s an inconvenience to our lifestyles?
Chocolate, pizza, pasta and ice cream. These are a part of the food pyramid, right? Well, they do exist, but for some of us we crave them constantly and have a difficult time making a break for healthier choices. What if I told you that it’s not all you, it’s them? Yes, you can apply the bad break-up line to your relationship with food, too.
Sounds delightful-doesn’t it? Although it’s not something we want to acknowledge outside of gut bacteria, the statement proves true. We have 10 times more bacteria in our body than we do cells. They are one of the most basic forms of life on this planet and they have a huge impact on our health.
Do you have symptoms with no solutions? Toxins bombard are everyday life and it’s no longer a matter of if we have toxic build-up, but how much. Many people struggle with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, brain fog, food allergies, autoimmune, hormone balances and so much more with no answer as to why. What if detoxing could restore your energy and help you get the person back you know and love?
Sometimes inspiration for a blog post starts with a shot of sake and 30 minutes of meditation. I can’t say I ever imagined myself beginning with these words, but it’s the honest truth for where I am in life now. I realized this evening why I was frustrated but couldn’t put my finger on it. I’ve discussed with so many the troubling experiences I’ve had through my heavy metal detox and the physical healing that’s taken place. Whether it be my take on supplements, therapies or testing-man, what a world of knowledge I have been graced with! Although this will guide me in helping others, there’s a piece to detoxing that I have been avoiding in sharing out of fear of judgement and I didn’t want to admit it to myself until now.
Self criticism. The destroyer of dreams, ruin-er of relationships and preventer of hope. I’ve written about judgement of others, but sometimes the judgement of others represents how much we judge ourselves.
One of the biggest facilitators of personal change for me was reading a book, ‘You’re a Badass’ by Jen Sincero. With multiple other books and podcasts recommended to me, I decided I wanted to compile a list of my favorites in hopes that maybe someone else starting their happiness journey could get a jumpstart. Here’s my top 3...
As I started to think about it more and my recent blog on happiness, I realized being happier had a lot to do with discovering my true nature over the past year too, which is that I am an empath through and through.
For me, living healthy is not just the weight room and veggies, it’s a positive, open perspective. If we can manage to be happy with ourselves and take responsibility for our reactions (which includes a life void of unhealthy judgments), the rest of a healthy lifestyle will follow. What we choose to see in others is a reflection of ourselves...
Over the past year I have taken the opportunity to experiment with different diets, herbs, supplements and therapies to see what would be most beneficial to my body in the healing process. Here are the top 3 therapies I will continue to use and what benefits I received from them.
What better way to spread some cheer and utilize quality time than a Christmas brunch with friends? Funny shirts and ugly sweaters were permitted and encouraged!
SIBO or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, is referring to the fact that some of those bad bacteria have migrated to the small intestine in the process of them overgrowing. The majority of all the bacteria in the gut are stored in the large intestine and so they are definitely in a place they should not be! This can cause a lot of additional health problems...
Numbers can create an unhealthy mindset in what should be a health journey. Although these experiences are totally different than the lifestyle I lead today, they did prove a learning experience.
What if sharing our experiences could save someone else's life? I'm hoping to do so by explaining how the past few months have been extraordinarily tough for me both physically and mentally. It's taken 3 doctors and lots of testing to figure out what was going on in my body.
I looked up 'Vitamin deficiency, achy muscles' and multiple articles on Vitamin D flooded the page.
Guess what? Being healthy is easy! Even when you travel. I wanted to share some great pics from this past weekend in Amelia Island and how I keep it simple and healthy on the road (que Willie Nelson song).
